My Free Wii Ideas

My wife's parents just bought our kids a Wii. It's pretty fun. The kids are bowling and golfing up a storm. I also got a couple of other games. I got Elebits, Raving Rabbids, Big Brain Academy and Mini Ninjas. Pretty fun.

So, here's my idea. The next Wii console should have a multi-disc changer.

Here's my thinking...

1. It's a pain to change out discs whole toting along the remote and the nunchuk. It's also a pain to unstrap the remote every time I want to change a game.

2. The way we play games is that we play one for a while, then switch out and play another one. Especially with Wii Sports. It's fun for a while, then we are on to something else, but we will come back. If it was possible to just have all the discs in there, then choose from the menu which "disc channel" I wanted to play, that would be awesome.

3. I don't care that the Wii is the smallest console ever. Who really cares about that. It still takes up the space on top of my TV with the remote thing. I don't think that adding a length to the console will really keep people from wanting it.

Next idea is downloadable apps, like on the iphone.

I'm talking about small apps for 100 or 200 points each. Apps like little mini games, gas prices in town, a Bible, bejeweled, etc. Anything really.

I'm looking around and I don't really see anything like that. The WiiWare thing got me all excited, but only to find out it's really nothing. Unless I'm missing something. I just see a potential here. So many slots available for channels on the menu, but all I can download is old SNES and SEGA games? I don't think so. I'm not really interested in that.

I'm interested in a small little 15s puzzle game, or a Tower Defense game or a guitar tuner or even a magazine you can flip through the pages. Yeah, periodicals you can download...like a reader, you know? Make the Wii like a Kindle or the iPad. That would be cool. A radio station...Pandora even. Pocket God could be WiiGod. A racing game.

Not huge downloads, small little apps. That would be great, don't you think?

Anyway, I actually just experimented and used the internet channel to go to my games website and I played some of my flash games using the Wii remote. That was pretty fun. Check out the City Smash game. I think that one worked quite well using the remote.

So, downloadable flash games? That would be cool too.

So, there you have it. If you know anyone that works at Nintendo, give them these ideas and call them your own.
